Longwood Gardens

Visiting Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania is going to be a new family tradition that we enjoy for many years. The lush green foliage, captivating water features (I’m assuming—they were all turned off for the season!), and breathtaking conservatories filled with exotic plants from all over the world never ceased to amaze us. Even though a lot of the garden was dormant, it still maintained a beauty that we weren’t expecting to find so close to Philadelphia.

As we walked through the gardens, we felt like we were transported to a French palace with its grand architecture and well-manicured lawns. The conservatory was a botanical paradise with the sweet fragrance of flowers filling the air.—it made for an unforgettable experience. It’s not often I’m left in awe of a garden.

On the other hand, the woods were like a scene straight out of Sherwood Forest, complete with the feeling of adventure and mystery. It was easy to imagine Robin Hood and his band of thieves lurking in the shadows, ready for their next escapade. The combination of these two contrasting environments made for a truly magical experience, one that we won't soon forget.

The vibrant colors, textures, and fragrances of the conservatory made for an unforgettable experience. From the serene reflection pool to the colorful blooms in the Orchid House, Longwood Gardens is a feast for the senses. We can’t wait for our newborn to be old enough to enjoy the children’s garden!

Since this is a photography related website, I must announce that I recently upgraded to the Canon R6 and the RF 24-105mm F/4. The R6 combines versatility and performance in a compact form. It features impressive autofocus and high-speed continuous shooting capabilities, which make capturing fast-moving subjects a breeze. With its compact body (relative to my old 6DII), I loved how easy it was to sling over my shoulder and pull up for quick snapshots.
