First Time Shooting Street Photography

The notion of street photography initially seemed intimidating, but ultimately proved fulfilling. I find landscape photography comfortable since it’s predictable and I can fine-tune compositions, while street photography presents a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Unlike landscapes, street scenes are fleeting, requiring quick decisions and decisive action. There's a sense of urgency in capturing the moment as it happens, knowing that once it's gone, it's lost forever. However intimidating, I love the results. I chose black and white as the format to force focus on my composition and the subjects within each photo. I was joined by a childhood friend who is a great photographer with his own unique stle: https://www.instagram.com/ryanbessephoto/

The day started off with a phenomenal scene straight out of the subway exit.

Chinatown was next on our list. It’s a lively district, full of vibrant culture and bustling with activity. Its narrow streets are lined with colorful storefronts, aromatic restaurants, and bustling markets, creating a dynamic and immersive experience for visitors.

We moved from Chinatown toward Center City and was greeted by more great scenes before ending the day.
